Pier 32 Yacht Club

Location: National City, California,United States
Site Area: 2.2 HA
Completion: Landscape completed in 2009

The facility was designed with a modern expression while evoking the imagery of a historic maritime heritage. The main buildings and outside amenities are linked together by a central promenade. The path provides a scenic pathway for cyclists, walkers and boat owners using the 250 slip marina and boat ramp. Marina users have a pool and spa and a putting green for recreation. Along the promenade, boaters will enjoy picnic and barbecue areas, as well as benches for relaxing and viewing waterfront activities. Due to the adjacent wildlife preserve, a native plant palette of coastal strand and dune plants is used throughout the property. Dune-like mounds bring the character of the nearby marsh onto the site, while lawn panels provide for boater activities.
