RFC Future Pavilion

Eco-Urban Harmony: Pioneering Sustainable Futures

Hangzhou prides itself on being one of the world’s leading scientific research cities, with Hangzhou Future Technology City (HFTC) emerging as a key science and technology hub. The venture aims to blend livability, mobility, and sustainability through planned public transportation, responsible development, mixed land use, and quality public spaces.

HFTC features pavilions themed around urbanism, science, technology, and art, with the RFC pavilion focusing on rapid urbanization. Strategically designed, the RFC landscape offers a soothing retreat for users.

Hangzhou's canal network, including the Jing–Hang Grand Canal, reflects its rich history in trade, transportation, and flood control. The RFC Future pavilion, situated on a canal tributary, integrates with canal ecology and the surrounding environment, connecting streets, pedestrian paths, and a central park. The site promotes community connections with the canal while managing flooding and enhancing the public realm.

The RFC landscape creates a waterfront development and pedestrian greenway system, seamlessly integrated with the larger pedestrian network and featuring a unique jogging track that celebrates the scenic beauty and pedestrian destinations.
